The challenges

Why mobility is a press topic of its own

Mobility affects everyone, which makes it a heavily covered subject. It is also a market saturated with announcements, where the trade press tests everything and public decisions change the rules from one year to the next.

  • Competition

    A market saturated with announcements

E-bikes, chargers, apps, fleet offers: newsrooms receive launches every week. To stand out, you need a category to explain, a proof to show or data that nobody else has.

  • Product tests

A trade press that wants to try

Cycling, automotive and tech media judge on the evidence. A folding bike folds in front of them, a charge is timed, an app is downloaded. Organising these tests, with the right equipment at the right time, often matters more than a press release.

  • Regulation

    Rules that change fast

Low-emission zones, purchase incentives, social leasing, fleet greening obligations, rules for shared e-scooters: every public decision reopens the debate. That is when newsrooms look for experts and concrete examples.

  • Trust

    Sensitive topics to prepare for

Battery fires, cyclist safety, charger reliability, the financial health of brands: the mobility press also covers what goes wrong. Better to have your answers and your proof ready before a journalist asks.

The media

Mobility media, circle by circle

An e-bike launch is not pitched the same way to a review site, a business daily and a breakfast TV show. We work each circle with its own angle.

  • Circle 1

    Cycling, automotive and tech press

It tests, compares and rates. A good review in these outlets reassures buyers, retailers and investors, and it gets quoted for a long time. It expects available equipment, accurate data sheets and quick answers.

Our clients have been covered there:
    • Frandroid
    • Cleanrider
    • Transition Vélo
    • Le Journal du Geek
  • Circle 2

    Fleet and trade press

Fleet managers, leasing companies, retailers: for a business solution, this is the circle that brings in customers. It looks at costs, taxation, user feedback and signed contracts.

Our clients have been covered there:
    • Flottes Automobiles
    • Le Journal de l’automobile
    • AM Today
    • Flotauto
  • Circle 3

    Business and national press

Funding rounds, factories, jobs, new product categories: it covers mobility as an industry. It is what establishes a young brand as a serious player with partners and future hires.

Our clients have been covered there:
    • Les Echos
    • Le Figaro
    • Le Parisien
    • Forbes France
  • Circle 4

TV, radio and the regional press

A bike folded live on set, a route close to home, a solution that cuts commuting costs: mobility looks good on screen. The regional press is happy to cover a service arriving in its town.

Our clients have been covered there:
    • BFM TV
    • France TV
    • Europe 1
    • 20 Minutes
Our approach

What we do for mobility companies

Every campaign combines a story, a proof and the right timing. Four examples from our case studies.

  • Product tests

    Proof through testing

For Bastille, a big-wheel folding bike, we organised tests with Frandroid, Cleanrider and Weelz, then live demos on the TF1 and France 2 breakfast shows. In eight months, the brand secured more than 30 major pieces of coverage while its network grew from 45 to nearly 100 partner stores in Europe.

  • Data

    Data that becomes news

For Anod, which fits its bikes with supercapacitors rather than lithium-ion batteries, we launched a crowdsourced map of incidents involving those batteries: more than 140 cases recorded, and a brand that journalists now turn to on safety. For fluctuo, the annual shared mobility barometer became a date the press looks out for.

  • Local

    National news, local angles

For the cycle touring app La Trace, we tied the campaign to the Tour de France with seven regional press releases and a France 3 report put together in 24 hours. The result: more than 1,000 downloads in a few days, without an advertising budget.

  • Spokespeople

    Executives ready for the media

Media training, press lunches, interviews: we prepare your spokespeople for short formats and difficult questions. For Forest, a micro-mobility operator setting up in France, a press lunch and media training sessions paved the way for more than 20 qualified pieces of coverage.

Our method

Our method, from launch to coverage

Four steps, tracked in Strato and visible in your client dashboard.

  • 01

    Find the story

We start from your product, your figures and your sales calendar. We look for what makes a new category, unique data or a testimonial, and we draw two or three angles per media circle from it.

  • 02

    Prepare the proof

Test equipment, visuals, videos, data sheets, usage figures: we prepare with you what journalists will ask for, before contacting them. A failed test or an approximate data sheet is hard to recover from.

  • 03

    Target and pitch

Strato surfaces the journalists who have covered your subject in recent months, from reviewers to business desks. Tailored pitches, follow-ups, tests, press lunches: we organise the meetings that serve your launch.

  • 04

    Measure and adjust

Every piece of coverage is captured the same day and visible in your dashboard. We look at what worked in each circle, then we adjust the angles and the calendar for the following month.

Frequently asked questions

Press relations in mobility: your questions

Prices, media, product tests, timing: the answers we give in a first meeting.

How much does a PR agency for a mobility company cost?

At 425PPM, prices are public and the same whatever your sector: our three press relations plans range from €3,500 to €8,000 excl. VAT per month, plus a €1,800 setup fee, with a three-month minimum commitment. Media training and events are quoted separately.

Which media do you target for a bike or electric vehicle launch?

Four circles: the cycling, automotive and tech press, which tests the product; the fleet and trade press; the business and national press; TV, radio and the regional press. Our clients in the sector have been covered by Frandroid, Cleanrider, Les Echos, Le Figaro and BFM TV, among others.

See our clients’ coverage

Should you organise product tests for journalists?

For a product, almost always. The trade press rarely writes about a bike, a charger or an app it could not test. We plan the tests with you: equipment availability, priority media, publication calendar and follow-up of feedback.

How do you stand out in a market saturated with launches?

By choosing one thing to prove: a new category, a measurable performance or data that only you hold. We build the campaign around that proof, then adapt it circle by circle rather than sending the same press release to everyone.

Do you also work with solutions for businesses and local authorities?

Yes. For a fleet, charging or software offer, we start with the trade and business press, with customer feedback and announced contracts. The general public comes next, when the subject lends itself to it.

How long before the first coverage?

With a launch, a funding round or a major contract, the first articles can come out in the first month, especially if product tests are planned. For a regular presence, allow three to six months: the time it takes to become a reliable source for mobility journalists.
